Greetings Parents, Students, Alumni, and Friends of Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy: 

The 2024-2025 school year is in full swing and we are excited about the opportunity to grow our students. There are a number of new policies and changes to how schools operate. As reported on all media outlets, students are no longer allowed to have their cellphones on during school hours. Please assist us in making sure your child adheres to this new state law. Also new this year is a new evaluation system for administrators and teachers to ensure that high quality education is the focus for all school. We are excited about this new evaluation system because we expect to show growth in our School Performance Scores. However, the challenges of growing our school will be impacted by the change in scoring school's performances. This change will take affect in the 2025-2026 SY, so it's important that we get ahead of the new changes during this current school year. So please stay connect to Green Oaks so that you are informed and ready to assist the school in any possible for you.

On of our goals this school year is to increase community engagement and participation in school events. So I am asking all stakeholders to download the Green Oaks school app, follow us on facebook@greenoaksperformingartsacademy, and our school website at greenoaks.caddoschools.org. Please get involved with student and staff events that support our focus of growing students.

I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at GOPAA. In order to do this, I will be providing teachers with feedback on their instruction, access to professional development, and reaching out to parents for support with academic and behavioral concerns to ensure our students are prepared for college and 21st century careers.

I will be working closely with our Assistant Principals, Mrs. Jessica Elie and Dr. Charles Lafollette, to guarantee that all of our scholars are intellectually challenged and have access to the social and emotional support critical to student’s educational needs. Please get involved with the Parent, Teacher, and Student Organization (PTSO), Green Oaks Alumni Association (GOAA), Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Development Corporation, and the Cooper Road Neighborhood Association (CRNA) to ensure that your voices are heard or send me an email directly at scgrant@caddoschools.org.
